Media Arts College Status
We have successfully become a Media Arts Specialist School and we intend to provide a wide range of resources for our students and parents as well as for other schools, business and community groups within the local area. Our specially furnished Media Arts van, equipped with laptops, digital and video cameras will visit local schools and interested community groups to provide a range of activities and training in media skills such as digital filming and editing as well as providing accredited courses in these skills for community members run at our Parsloes Avenue base. If you could help with this or would like to become involved with us in any way we would love to hear from you.
Each year, 10 Sydney Russell students are
nominated to receive an award for outstanding contribution and
achievement by the Jack Petchey Foundation. Each student is given £300
to spend within the school on projects that the students are involved in
and benefit the whole school. In addition a nominated member of staff is
given £1,000 to spend within the school.
