A major refurbishment of the Art rooms in Lester block will take place over the summer break. The layout will change, increasing the size of the studio areas with a centrally based Art library and ICT suite. Students have been helping art staff get ready for the changes over the past few weeks whilst packing up has taken place. Lessons have continued as normally as possible to minimise the disruption.

The brand new rooms are due to open in September as part of our Media Arts College launch and will improve the accommodation for all students doing Art.

A Message to Parents and Students from the Headteacher

As we come to the end of a hot and sticky term, we can all look back over a very successful year for the school— and forward to an even more exciting future.

The school year began with our best ever exam results at all levels—Key Stage 3, GCSE and A’Level.  On the buildings front, we opened the brand-new Durrant Block, with its state of the art facilities for ICT and Drama, as well as our superb new Sixth Form accommodation.

In November we had our Ofsted inspection, which resulted in a very positive report, grading all aspects of the school as satisfactory or better, and many, including the Sixth Form, Student Enjoyment and Leadership, as good or excellent.

In January we received the fantastic news that our bid to become a Media Arts Specialist School had succeeded, which will bring in around £850,000 of additional funds to the school. And we opened the best and most radically-designed school toilets in London!

We now look forward to some very exciting future developments. During the Summer we hope to complete further major building works, including constructing five new all-weather, multi-purpose sports pitches; completely re-modelling the Art Department; creating a Media Arts Resource Base and constructing completely new changing facilities for Dance and P.E.
