The Respect Show |

On Monday 3rd July students were treated to a special show organised by Ken Bonsu and the ‘Edutainment’ Team as a thank you to everyone who participated in after school clubs and ‘Respect’ shows throughout the year. Special performances by singers from ADVANCE and the professional dance troupe Avant Garde made the show special. Ms Davies was serenaded on stage to the delight of everyone and she did look pink by the end of the song! A lot of hard work and planning has gone into putting on the shows this year. Religious Education Enhancement - New York Group ‘Truce’ Visits Sydney Russell |

On July 4th a group of young teenagers from New York visited Sydney Russell School. TRUCE means ‘To Reach Urban Communities Everywhere’! The performers were a multi-racial team of young Americans, comprised of reformed gang members who are now all committed Christians. The aim of the performance was to bring respect and a sense of hope and self worth to the young people that they met. The team demonstrated their dance, singing and rapping skills along with giving some motivational talks. The performance was seen by Year 8, 9 and 10 students.
