Season’s Greetings

It came as no surprise when OFSTED announced to us that we are a good school. The school OFSTED inspection began on the 6th November when five inspectors scrutinised all aspects of our school. They observed lessons, interviewed staff, students and governors.

We have now received the published report, which describes our school as good. The report goes on to say:

‘There is no complacency as the school strives for all-round excellence, making extremely effective use of its good resources. The school has excellent capacity to improve’.

Our 6th Form was seen as an asset to the school and the inspectors recognized the effort staff and students were putting in to achieve high standards.

The Sydney Russell School is a good school with an outstanding ethos.

2008 has been another excellent year for our school.

We have maintained our achievement with examination results both at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Our year on year improvement is a credit to everyone who is involved with the school.

We look forward to 2009 and our challenge is to ensure that our current Year 11 out perform their predecessors!

Over the past year our students have benefited from the many trips, conferences and learning activities organised for them. Our Media Arts and International School status has enriched our curriculum and created exciting opportunities for all.

We  would like to wish everyone associated with the school a Merry Christmas and a happy, productive and healthy new year.
