Trip to London 2012 Event

This turned out to be an interesting and informative experience for all of us, plus we got free food!

We saw a presentation about the 2012 Olympics.  The event began with a talk on the number of job opportunities, and the impact of 2012 on career options. We  all found it very interesting. 

Following that we attended a talk given by  a hotel manager; this proved to be particularly informative session as he told us about how he got into his position.  Thirdly, we were given the opportunity to  listen to a talk by a specialist in muscle strength and conditioning. We were surprised to know that he had met quite a few famous people. Through sports science we found out how to test bicep strength using a special machine. 

At break we were offered ‘healthy’ beverages. The day continued with us meeting a woman who was a professional canoe polo player.  She showed us all of the medals she had won; three silver and two gold.  We also watched a few clips of her in action: and she was very impressive.

Finally, we went to a presentation about London City Airport.  They showed us lots of jobs they had on offer and a few ways to get into them including information about careers most of us hadn’t ever considered.
