16+ Attendance

Arrival and Registration

Students are expected to arrive in plenty of time for morning registration which begins at 8:40am.

Students must attend school every day and not be late.

Attendance and Punctuality

Attendance and punctuality are essential if students are to benefit fully from their time at The Southern Consortium.

When a student leaves the Consortium, one of the first things a potential employer, college or university wants to know is whether or not that student was good at attending the Consortium, and on time. It is therefore important that our students develop these good habits now.

Routine

Students are expected to make positive use of the Consortium day, and are encouraged to use non-contact time by using the study facilities within the Sixth Form Centre.

Students should register by signing in at the start of each day, and should telephone the Sixth Form Office if they are absent.

Students are expected to aim for full attendance to the Consortium and all lessons. Holidays should not be taken during term time as such absence will have an adverse effect on a student's performance. If students are likely to be absent as a result of illness they must phone the Sixth Form Office on the first day of their illness. A note explaining their absence must be given to their form tutor on the day of their return to the Consortium (blank absence notes are included in the planner)
