16+ Home-School Agreement/Contract

 

The Consortium will commit itself to:

  • ensuring that each student is valued as an individual
  • having clear aims and expectations for all students
  • providing a safe, well ordered and caring environment
  • ensuring a full programme of study is provided to all
  • dealing swiftly with any incidents or concerns relating to your study or the Consortium life
  • informing you regularly about your son's or daughter's progress throughout the Sixth Form
  • providing you with annual written reports and opportunities to discuss your learning

 

We expect you, the Student, to:

1. Have a positive attitude towards your study.

2. Arrive punctually for the Consortium and lessons.

3. Attend the Consortium and lessons regularly.

4. Attend the weekly Pastoral Lesson, Year Meeting and the Consortium Assembly.

5. Make regular use of your Sixth Form Student Planner.

6. Complete homework as set.

7. Meet work deadlines, negotiating with staff if problems occur.

8. Ensure that out of the Consortium activities and part-time employment do not affect studies.

9. Fulfil a structured timetable consisting of both lessons and monitored study periods.

10. Liaise with your tutor should you need to study off site.

11. Inform the Consortium of any absences.

12 Attend the Consortium in appropriate dress, meeting the requirements of the Sixth Form Dress Code.

13. Behave in a responsible manner, including setting a good example to the younger members of the Consortium and taking an active role as part of the Consortium community.

14. Make proper use of the facilities provided for Sixth Form students and participate in Enrichment Activities.

We expect you, the Parent, to:

1. Encourage high standards of attendance and punctuality.

2. Monitor the completion of homework ensuring that out of the Consortium activities do not prevent this.

3. Attend Parent Meetings.

4. Support the standards which we have concerning Sixth Form Dress and General Expectations.

5. Maintain close contact with the Consortium, bringing any concerns to our attention as early as possible.

6. Encourage your son/daughter to participate in any visits, conferences and courses which are arranged as part of their studies.

We will ensure -

1. An individual programme of study is provided for your son/daughter and is taught by staff who will encourage students to reach their full academic potential.

2. Homework is set, where appropriate, as an integral part of your son/daughter's studies.

3. Parental concerns and student problems are dealt with quickly.

4. Support and counselling is provided for your son/daughter if required.

5. You are kept informed of your son/daughter's progress and will be notified immediately should there be concerns over attitude or academic progress.

6. Guidance is given concerning careers and entry to Further/Higher Education.

7. Opportunities are provided for your son/daughter to participate in a range of extra­curricular and enrichment activities so as to develop life skills appropriate to a young adult.
